Well, we have already discussed lots of the ongoing economic crisis and its nasty effect on the whole of the United States of America along with different sectors. But we have not discussed anything of Colorado which should have been done since it is one of the most important states of the US. What is the situation of the State of Colorado therefore? It has been learnt that the situation is not much different and like many other states of the country the real estate sector of the state is in a bad shape. According to the latest information, the local real estate market is at the depths of despair and continues to freeze up. The rate of sales is appearing even worse than 2003 figures.
During the last October the gravest reduction in total dollar volume for real estate sales took place in the Garfield County. How did the subsequent months fare then? The reports reveal that November was not so bad like the previous month but came in 60 percent below November 2007. It has been found from the pertinent figures that the overall amount of real estate sales was at $28.89 million in November, down from $72.9 million in the same month last year. This figure is enough to clarify the ongoing situation since it was worse than even $30.29 million in November, 2003.
It is to be noted that the entire assessment has been done by the Land Title Guarantee Company. In the view of the company the total amount of sales, for the year through November, in Garfield County is $685.5 million, down 38 percent from the same period in 2007. The same gloomy picture, in other contexts, has also come forward thanks to the evaluation.
What are the possible steps to save the State of Colorado from this unprecedented crisis? It seems none is in any position to foretell the best medicine for this disease. But, in any way, the State shall have to step in. There is, perhaps, no other way.
