Google real estate? Can we see this soon?

Is Google getting more interested in real estate? This question is being asked by many considering the latest moves of the company. However this is not the only question. There are, in fact, many who are witnessing signs of premonitions or presentiments through this. Whatever it is, it must be accepted, Google’s sudden interests in property through relocations have made many skeptical.

What has Google done? Google has changed location of its own employees. It has moved them out of three buildings totaling 128,000 square feet closer to the Googleplex. Moreover, in the meantime, it has procured four other buildings totaling 240,000 square feet. Well, Google has its own justifications. It has termed this categorically as a regular activity and a novel bid to centralize the workforce. What is the condition of three rescinded buildings at present? The company is set to sublease the three vacated 42,630-square-foot building. They are at 2375 Garcia Ave., 2350 Bayshore Parkway and 1500 Salado Dr. Employees will be shuffled to the quondam Alza Corp. headquarters. It was a 450,000-square-foot building that was the last large property on the Googleplex’s block but not occupied by Google.

Speaking on this Google spokesman Andrew Pedersen stated firmly, “We’ve always liked to have a dense campus core. It increases efficiency and helps people work better and more economically.”

Well, there are no ends of justifications at least! It has been learnt that Google has obtained by purchase four buildings merely south of Googleplex along Shoreline Drive. These are 1010 and 1015 Joaquin Road, 1058 Huff Road and 1708 N. Shoreline Blvd. According to the management of Google, these buildings are more convenient on account of their locations between the Googleplex and large campus planned around Shorebird Way on 64 acres.

But there are some strange aspects also. This is happening at a time when Google has reduced the rate of employments in the company. A simple figure may confirm this. In the last quarter Google’s workforce increased with only 519 employees throughout the globe, whereas previously it used to vary between 1,000 to 2,000.

There may be the presence of some ulterior motives.
