US property tax structure getting standard

Who doesn’t want to hear nice and inspirational news amid an age of darkness and frustrations? Everybody loves to hear this and the Americans are no exceptions. Well, there is something for them to cheer. The news depicts that the sphere of property tax in the length and breadth of the United States of America has been found to be stable and this is a clear evidence of the sound national economic structure though it is being tormented due to the ongoing meltdown in the global economy.

What is the real news? According to the appraisal of a national nonprofit tax organization the Rockingham County of New Hampshire has become the 21st highest median property-tax rate in the country, which is indeed glorious. Well, the figures that have been released by the Tax Foundation have their basis on U.S. Census information for 2005 through 2007 and these figures denote unequivocally that the median property-tax paid in Rockingham County was $4,950.

It is to be noted that the Tax Foundation made the best use of rationalized information, in this regard, from the Census’ “American Community Survey”. The study was restricted among places with populations greater than 20,000 and higher-ranking communities in more than 1,800 counties on a national scale.

What is the scenario among the counties? In this regard Hillsborough County ranked 31st and was estimated to have an average property tax of $4,583. It was followed by Merrimack County ($4,371, 36th), Strafford County ($3,917, 52nd), Cheshire County ($3,814, 60th), Grafton County ($3,357, 94th), Sullivan County ($3,250, 102nd), Belknap County ($3,176, 110th), Coos County ($2,436, 234) and Carroll County ($2,306, 256th).

However, according to the evaluation, the highest property-tax bills in the nation were in Westchester County of New York and with average property taxes of $7,908. On the contrary it was the residents of Vernon Parish in Louisiana who were found to pay the least property-tax bill and with an average property tax of $115.
