Is India witnessing different fallout due to the ongoing economic recession? This question is quite obvious, to a certain extent, since India is regarded as a major economic power in the realm of Asia and if the speculations are accurate, it is gradually moving to attain the tag of superpower in the entire globe. For all these reasons, it is too natural for people to get interested of India. Here is the answer. The global economic recession has cast its perilous shadow on India also and almost all sectors in the sphere of the country are badly affected. Nevertheless, among them the real estate sector deserves special mention.
India, from the commencement of the market economy in the nation, has been witnessing a major upheaval in the construction industry. Lots of mammoth construction projects are taking place in different cities of India so as to cope with the changing market reality and get hold of it fast. However, the economic slowdown has had some impact on the construction industry and either the projects are on the verge of abrupt temporal end or moving on with slow progresses. Nevertheless the slowdown had also encouraged the developers to experience major reductions in prices.
But, if the fresh studies are believed, the prices in the building sector would not see substantial reduction. The only reason is that the labour costs along with land prices are rising and that makes the overall picture gloomy. Take for instance Kerala. It is one of the most prominent states in the union of India and with lots of promises. Nevertheless the picture is almost same here. Though groups like Skyline are working on lots of projects, the general picture remains the same. The group has provided 22 projects during 2008 located at various sites. It is also firm to deliver another nine projects during 2009 especially in areas like Kozhikode, Kottayam and Tiruvalla.
Nevertheless, the position, according to the group, will remain unchanged.
