Israel’s intensifying attacks persecutes more Palestinian buildings

The belligerent attitude of Israel in its confrontation with Palestine continues as before and it seems that its coercive tone is increasing with the passing of each day. How can we be so confident? Well, it seems that Israel is changing its strategy and is getting more attentive to strike at the foundation of the Palestinian resistance. The greatest specimen of this fresh development is its deadliest air assault on the buildings of Hamas. The Israeli airplanes destroyed the homes of more than a dozen Hamas operatives and also hurled bombs on a mosque terming it as the storehouse of weapons.

Well, the destruction of buildings in a war is natural and is considered a part of the war strategy. But here only one side is engaged in the attacks while the other is compelled to abide by defense through firing rockets. It has come to the knowledge that Palestinians fired at least 30 rockets into southern Israel damaging homes in the city of Ashkelon and wounding four Israelis (alleged). But these destructions are inconsequential if compared with the attack on the Palestinian strongholds and their buildings. What will be the next steps? As reports are coming in, Gaza Strip, on account of the grisly assaults, is with no electricity, water and medicine, not to speak of the wretched buildings.

However Israel seems to be as obstinate as before and is busy in building up artillery, armor and infantry on Gaza’s border indicating that it will let loose a spate of attacks. Nevertheless it should be said that Israel is no mood to carry on middling skirmishes and settle the issue once and for all. In the meantime more than 400 Gazans have been killed and 1,700 have been wounded in the Israeli campaign.

How long will this continue? Can there be an armistice? It is very difficult to say although U.N. along with other nations has urged Israel to stop the assault. But, it is getting clear, that all are futile and are being stated before deaf ears. Perhaps Israel will not take rest till there is the existence of a single building in Gaza strip.
