Israel’s pretexts for destructing Gaza buildings are getting identified

Are the majority of Israel’s allegations concocted? This view becomes apparent if we concentrate on the various sources of news that are appearing after both sides engaged in the conflict in Gaza declared a unilateral cease-fire. We must keep in mind that a great number of casualties have been civilians and this is not possible if there is no attack on the buildings in the civilian areas. As stated by Palestinian figures, the death toll in Gaza passed 1,300 on Sunday, with unstable estimates for civilian casualties floating between a third and a half of that figure. The number is likely to rise as bodies are recovered from rubbles of buildings and Palestinians stagger into ordinance and booby traps left over from the fighting.

Whatever it is, there is no doubt that the spate of Israeli ground assaults and air strikes on buildings was intentional and it was a bid to teach Hamas and it cohorts lesson more than anything else. What makes the international community sceptical? It is the disparity among revelations of Israeli combatants. Take for instance the avowal of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) regarding the firing on them by Hamas fighters from the UNRWA buildings. It was this indiscriminate firing only, as indicated by IDF, that prompted it to counter and the buildings became ravaged as a result.

But, it seems, this old stance has changed at this instant yielding place to new. The esteemed officials of the UNRWA (the United Nations Relief and Works Agency) have termed this as a fabricated story which has no relation with the reality. Christopher Gunness, the spokesman for UNRWA has also termed this as sheer garbage. While speaking to The Jerusalem Post he said, “Senior IDF officials fully admitted to us in coordination meetings that there were no militants inside our compound. So you have public statements that say UNRWA is allowing terrorists into its facilities, while in meetings they fully acknowledge [this was untrue].”

If we go through the past records of Israel, we may also agree with Mr. Gunness. But we have other fears also. This may be just the tip of iceberg and the other heinous conspiracies will, perhaps, become evident in the coming days. What was then the war leading to mass destructions of buildings and complete genocide for? Was it the mere continuation of clash of civilizations?
