The confrontation between Israel and Hamas is unabated due to both clash of civilizations and the age-old face-off. Whatever it is the existing hostility is at full momentum and perhaps, without the intrusion of an omnipotent entity, will go on in the same fashion. The gruesome results are as clear as the daylight. A huge number of buildings worth millions are being destroyed along with the innocent civilians. The Israeli troops, according to the fresh news, are found busy in taking hold of high-rise buildings arbitrarily and have already taken possession of several buildings in three eastern districts of Gaza City.
What makes Israel apply this bizarre strategy? It has been learnt that this is a part of the greater military maneuver and Israeli army hopes the precise application of this along with the shoot down of militants will enable it to destruct the “venomous” basis of Hamas. I am confident that you are aware of the identity of Hamas. It is the internationally recognized Palestinian Sunni Islamist paramilitary organization and political party which holds a majority of seats in the elected legislative council of the Palestinian National Authority.
What is the present center of attention of the Israeli army therefore? This has become evident from the vigor with which Sion or the State of Israel assailed smuggling tunnels and mosques on the 10th day of its offensive against the Islamist rulers of Gaza. Was there any casualty? Well, there were indeed many. The startling and ferocious strikes led to the unfortunate deaths of innocent civilians comprising 12 children. The fuel and water supplies for hundreds of thousands and buildings, along with this, came to a permanent halt.
According to the conviction of the Israeli forces, a large number of (so-called) civilian buildings are busy to domiciliate or provide housing for rockets, launchers or militants. This convenience enables Hamas’ militants to fire rockets at Israel and hence prompts Israel to opt for retribution.
Can Israel hit the bull’s eye (destroying Hamas) through destructing buildings? Though this appears to be a cock-and-bull story to many, lots are hopeful. Nevertheless, time will provide the best answer.
