Can you ever conceive of a war without excesses? It’s nothing but a mare’s nest or a confused multitude of things. Whether it is a war or a military blockade or even a counteroffensive, each of these actions is associated with tremendous dynamism and for that reason anything is possible. However this justification is deplorable and there should be the presence of restrain always or else the transgression may lead to serious war crime, which is also expanding by leaps and bounds throughout the globe. It has come to the knowledge that the UN smells a rat regarding the ongoing Israeli offensives in the Gaza Strip and its mode of attacking civilian buildings with the exponential rise in the number of deaths.
This has occurred due to a grave news of human rights violation which has come to the fore. On the word of the survivors, the Israeli troops struck hard the buildings of the Samouni clan in Gaza City last weekend, instructed them to leave straight away and advised them to take refuge in buildings of their relatives. Nevertheless, only after 24-hour interval, three lethal shells were flapped down in the building where many people were thronging together. The news, as has been found, has shaken up several echelons of the UN. A newly released United Nations report said 30 people died in the shelling, citing four unidentified survivors who spoke by telephone.
However, it must be said, that the report of the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has failed to prove that the attack was deliberate and the Israeli authority has denied any such incident. As stated by Maj. Avital Leibovich, spokeswoman of the army, “We don’t warn people to go to other buildings. This is not something we do. We don’t know this case. We don’t know that we attacked it. It’s not confirmed that we attacked it.”
But tension is mounting in the area since lots of human rights organizations have come forward corroborating the same incident. While one of the most prominent organizations is AP which interviewed survivor Salah Samouni, the other one is Red Cross. It is getting evident that the U.N. human rights and humanitarian officials smell a rat in the entire episode and any form of Israeli association with the gruesome incident may become tantamount to war crime.
