The contemporary period is, undoubtedly, one of the toughest in the last few decades owing to the spate of the downturn and its burgeoning severity. The United States of America is no exception to this and can be regarded as one of the worst preys of it. While a large number of sectors have been worst affected and many business have closed, business transactions continue yet whatever may be its intensity. However, even for a mere existence there is the need of a healthy fund. Where will the money come from then? Well, the reputed business houses have found an apposite solution to end these anguishes. They can sell their buildings.
There is no doubt that this is a simple solution yet quite difficult at the same time. Why? Keep in mind that a building, apart from housing the business along with its employees, becomes the emblem of a strong emotion and this feeling often appears to be the greatest impediment before the management of business to put old buildings on the market. But necessity knows no law and the stark financial crisis surpasses sentiment easily. The same thing is happening with the employees of the Washington County News as its management has already decided to put up the same historic district building (that houses them) for sale soon. Reason?
Media General Inc. is finding it difficult to maintain the building due to the trying time and larger than needed as well. It has, therefore, hardly any other choice than to sell. It has been learnt that Media General Inc. will interview real estate agents in this regard.
Nevertheless the newspaper will continue to be published on a weekly basis following its own tradition of decades. Anyone can understand the feelings of pertinent individuals but this strategy is not new and has become widely populated in several parts of the globe. It’s not known how the posterity will judge this but there is hardly any alternative for the distressed organization.
