Each and every region in the world, be it a city, county, town or even a village has its own history, distinct culture and saga of success. Can you say how are these depicted? It is only through buildings. What’ more, each building has its own style, expression and elegance. Besides each of these attributes depends on the particular age and changes with the passing of years or age. What should be your ideal duty therefore? You should retain the old character of culture or simply the history of the region by renovating the quondam and dilapidated buildings.
Haven’t you got the meaning? If you haven’t, come to the Idaho. The State of Idaho is located the Pacific Northwest region of the United States of America. The largest city and capital of the state is Boise and the residents are called “Idahoans.” It has been learnt that the pertinent project is in full swing at the moment and by the early weeks of June the facade of the building in Historic Downtown Idaho Falls will be in a new avatar. Remember that the final objective is to transform the building into its earlier position or the way it looked at the turn of the century.
These two buildings on West Broadway were bought by the Actors Repertory Theatre of Idaho (also called ARTI) seven years ago and the same organization is desirous to bring back the old charm. In order to transform this dream into a reality ARTI hired Roxane Mitro, a local architect. Well, Roxane Mitro is having an arduous job since she has to make use of a rare black and white photograph to help guide her work.
Let’s find out the current situation through Roxane Mitro. As stated by her, “So we’re now, as best we can, putting things back together as best we can, put together from old photos and make it have the character and appearance and attractiveness it once had.”
The facade improvements to the ARTI building will cost them about fifty thousand dollars but they’re getting help through a matching grant program from the City of Idaho Falls. So far, 26 other property owners have taken advantage of this grant program to improve the historic district.
We must propose a toast to the spirit of the city that has hardly left any stone unturned to attain the objective. Others should follow it meticulously.
