Google to penetrate UK realty sector

With an innate desire to capitalize on the changing reality, internationally renowned search giant Google is on the verge of penetrating other sectors alien to it thus far. It has been found that Google, at the moment, is holding series of talks with an assortment of renowned real estate agents. The company is looking to join forces with them and launch a free online property portal for users across UK. Well, this is not any new venture as well as the firm has already rolled out a similar one in Australia in August.

Nevertheless, owing to this, analysts have got divided into two camps. While one group considers that any such approach would radically transform the entire process of searching for and paying money for a home, the other group has admonished that it could give rise to a massive contention between all the existing UK real estate websites and Google.

Many also suggest that this development has already had an effect on Rightmove to a large extent. The shares of this renewed property website operator fell sharply after the speculations became much stronger. Google could move into the British real estate market as early as next year.

“It looks very simple. If it stays free, then Google has a massive winner on its hands as it will get the backing from estate agents currently paying for rival sites”, said Ed Mead, Commercial Director at London-based Estate Agent Douglas & Gordon. Mr. Ed Mead has already confirmed that he has had a word with Google on the scheme.

Google Inc. is an American public corporation, earning revenue from advertising related to its Internet search, e-mail, online mapping, office productivity, social networking, and video sharing services as well as selling advertising-free versions of the same technologies and has also developed an open source web browser and a mobile operating system. The company, if truth be told, is running thousands of servers worldwide, which process millions of search requests each day and about 1 petabyte of user-generated data every hour.
